Echos from the Past

Today made me scroll back through years of photos to find one particular image. I was not enjoying this little mushroom-hatted birdo. I was going through the cycle of liking and hating this piece and it reminded me of one of my favorite pieces. I had to scroll back years to find it. Back in 2017, I was painting and was moving forward while it was too wet. I got frustrated and threw the painting away. Luckily, I just tossed it in the trash instead of tearing it up or crumpling it. Three times, I threw it in the trash, saw it later and pulled it out to try again. It isn’t perfect but it is one of my favorite paintings because I kept trying. The featured image (on the calendar) is what I painted today. The girl below is the one from 2017 that just kept calling me back.
